How much does an amatuer license cost for a play?
Looking at proposing a play for my school, but wanted to get some prices first without going through all of the hooplah with the company. Does anyone have a estimate of how much a amateur license for a play such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat or Les Miserables would cost for a small school production?
Not only do you have to pay the royalties (License fees) but you also have to rent the scripts and scores (music for the orchestra) It will cost you several hundred dollars and the only way you can get the exact amount by going through the hoopla.
